Daisy with new lens

Hi folks,

What a day, little legs came this morning and thought I would get a shot before she gets bored with the whole thing as she does.

The light was streaming through the rear French doors so out came the new lens and SNAP I got her.

There you go Trev, looking straight into the camera, the lens made mincemeat out of the chair behind and I was pleased as punch.

Having a day with her sure wears you out so I am going to cut this short as I have a load of things to do before we all go out tomorrow.

Shall I post another? ok here goes.

There you go taken in the Dockyard play area again wide open at F1.8, will need a filter to subdue the light, one on order. Oh dear this photography is getting expensive.

Must go.

nite nite, luv Mike XX

Playing around

Hi folks,

Well after a hard day at work, (makes a change) my new lens turned up. See Eileen I do believe in Santa and as all the stores are putting out there Christmas wears, Sue bless hers said I could have an early present.

So work finished and the light failing I thought I would have a play.

The idea of or this lens is to blur the background so I set about taking a few pics with deliberately messy backgrounds.

I hope I am not boring anyone. ( keep awake in the back).

Looking over next doors fence, that's a mess at the best of times..

In the kitchen making tea.

Daisy's room and her toy cars. (yes she is a girl)

Rear fence showing winter is on it's way and yes I know the fence wants treating.

Just a try out really hope to do better in my two days off with Trevor, Sue and Daisy .

Short and sweet,

Nite nite, luv Mike Xx

Down by the Riverside

Hi folks,

Had a bit of a busy week one way or another with a lot of customers leaving  jobs till the last minute.

Bathroom coming along quite well but costing more due to the finishing bits and bobs, towel rails. toilet roll holders etc. Spent part of the day working then across to the Savacentre to bank all my money, I wish. Then I spent it at B&Q where I met Gareth a Kiting friend and his wife, after a chat we settled our bill and decided to go to riverside as it was such a nice day.

What a lovely day it was, deep blue sky and a lovely view across the river. Not many birds (the flying type) about due to the tide but quite a few dogs.

It was about 20 degrees so the dogs were splashing about in the river, cooling off.
The Labrador was really getting into the swing of things and swimming out a long way to get his ball.
Well I'm back in paw land so I will keep hold of this ere ball otherwise they will only throw it back out again.
Now look ere, this is my ball so clear off.
Walked around to the old wreck as I have never seen it close up with the tide in before, I see that silly bird had to stick his nose/beak in to the shot, never mind just call it foreground interest.
On closer inspection I noticed that it must be quite old by the amount of rivets in the hull.
Well we have to add a PS shot to the blog now and again dont we. As it was very clear I thought well, why not.
What is this Daisy?  Is it a Wabbit warren I wondered or maybe erosion?
Looking across the river I spied Kingsnorth PS behind the cranes. Oh no thats two power stations in one blog, I will get into trouble in a minute and be put in the naughty corner.
Well here we are at orrid ill, dam, that's another one. He he

Well as Eileen will tell me off anyway I thought I would end with my special PS taken with the help of a nice young lad who joined in the fun with a bit of trick photography. You have probably seen this before with the leaning tower of Pisa but we both enjoyed messing about and with his mums permission  to post here goes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Well, we both walked back to the car park having a very nice walk along the river.
And with the sun dropping like a stone and the wind and cold setting in we headed home via Trevor's house for a chat and a cup of tea.

nite nite, luv Mike XX

Shower room all finished.

Hi folks,

I have a load of work suddenly turn up so short and sweet today.

The new shower room is finished although I still have to pay him the balance so bang goes any chance of a new lens for the camera. Still never mind I can stand in my new shower and not get hot or cold water all the time as it it constantly lovely and warm, magic!

Although he took a long time his work I think is exceptional and his eye for detail was first class. I hope he can't see this he he.  We are so pleased that he is coming back in a few weeks to do the downstairs loo, even less chance of that new lens!

The nights drawing in and with having to work all day the chances of photography are slim.

Two "bird" pictures taken through the glass of the French doors, we are overloaded with berries this year so I fear we are in for a hard winter.

The first one stopped by for afternoon tea and then a flock came over and stopped by for a nibble within the tree, this lone one found it less hard work just hopping along eating the fallen berries.

There, a bird in the bush so to speak.

Well off to work I go.

bye bye, luv Mike xx

A day in with the Plumber making Ginger bread men.

Hi folks,

Well what a week we are all upside down with having the bathroom/ shower room done but by the time  Thursday PM is here it should be done and then I have got to pay him, boo.

Daisy spent yesterday morning making Ginger Bread men, be it Little Chief Men in disguise with Sue in the kitchen, well away from the shower room.

Here is a few I took of the event, be it very floury.

Look into my eyes, "trust in me" as the snake on Jungle Book says

Very difficult a get then out of the cutter. ( anybody want any of my hair it's a lovely colour).

Special picture for Trevor above.

Wait a minute, I have got the hang of it now.

Well how many more pictures you taking?

I have a helper to show me what to do.

Well done Nanny

Daisy, look at the camera for Trev I cried so she did... hurrah. !!

bye bye, luv Mike XX

Got all these for a £1

Hi folks,

As some of you will know we had Daisy for an extra day as her mum is studying for an exam on Wednesday. GOOD LUCK CLAIRE.
As the plumber was here Sue gave me a £1 for Daisy to go on one of the rides so off we trotted to the Dockside Outlet for lunch and a photo shoot.

Lunch was great, I had a Bushwacker and Daisy and kids meal with a Ham Roll and a drink.

So here we are,

This is the one she opted to spend the £1 on and she got 3 rides and I said " that's your lot" and she was then quite content to sit in the cars and sort of pose for free.

What's up Doc, this was a new ride that she had not seen before.

Now for the classic Bob the Builder shot, I shall present this to her on her 18th birthday.

Ice cream anyone?

We had a great time in the cars and left Trev going into a shop to get yet another Bird book.

On the way home at 1.30pm I we passed the plumber going home but at least the shower is now working so I will not have to drive to Wigmore any more.

I think the plumber is coming tomorrow to finish the room off but who knows, they seem to have a funny way of working still all the time it's not finished I cant have the bill can I?

Nite nite, luv Mike XX

Tune in tomorrow to find out how the plumber got on............
