Muscle Car City Museum

Hi folks.

Next stop was Punta Gorda, Florida and a fantastic selection of vehicles.

First panorama taken by the lady wife with her Samsung wifi all singing and dancing camera.

Sue liked the old boy standing on a cork mat to stop his feet getting cold!

Second panorama by Sue, it obviously wasn't me, I'm on the right taking a picture.

This made us laugh, a 1928 Gypsy Wagon.

On the wall, it's really an advert for an outboard engine but what the heck.

Finally a speedy Dragster.

a few more still to come.

Thanks for looking.

Last Night in St Pete's, Florida

Hi folks,

Before we moved on from this lovely town as we had to because we where running out of time, we stopped off by the shore for dinner,

The wild life was truly amazing and so tame partly due I think to the amount of food about.

This grumpy old Heron was sitting under the bridge not like Kendo's.

Another Egret strutting his stuff on the waters edge looking out for fish.

Under the bridge was where the grumpy Heron was perched, night was now falling.

Sunset wasn't to good either but I liked the cloud formations.

Dark now, this is where we had our dinner, for the technically minded this shot was taken at 800iso, handheld with a lot of post processing. The camera for the whole trip was the Panasonic GH2 and the lens in most cases was the 14-140 zoom, 20mm F1.7 and the 7-14 F4.

Thanks for looking.

St Pete's City Centre. Florida

Hi folks,

Well Christmas is nearly upon us so finishing off work and getting ready for the holidays.

Still in the USA I will continue with a few shots in the city centre.

This is the old post office which is very unique with outside post boxes with individual keys.

Looks like someone had a go at 633

Plaque on the corner showing the dates it was erected.

Statue by the pier, there are lots of these in America.

By the pier is an exhibition of airlines through the ages and from the ceiling hangs a biplane, the Benoist.

Finishing off tonight with my old friend getting ready to fish in the evening light.

Thanks for looking.

Back in the USA

Hi folks,

Quick one tonight before I get told off. Continuing our journey we went to the outskirts of St, Petersburg and the Sunken Gardens.

Just a few of our day out in this wonderful place.

The lighting in this place was very challenging to get the exposure right.

Everyone's Christmas Shopping so we went to the Seaside

Hi folks,
as the title suggests, we did the opposite to most people and spent a lovely day in Leysdown and had a lovely relaxing day in the sunshine whilst the rest of the world went shopping.

Here we are enjoying the sun on a deserted beach and at one point the internal thermometer reached 21c. Then had a walk into the town and had a nice packed lunch as I have yet to buy a gas bottle. We talked about the vans, Adrianne, (on the right) introduced us to these vehicles a couple of weeks ago and we both fell in love with it and had to have one of our own and called it Winnie.

This is Bob 12 year old who would not let you have his ball, he says hello to Daisy and Holly.

Ah Birds, now let me see, just getting the book off the shelf and blowing the dust off. Three Turnstones and I am not sure of the white ones, could be a Plover but may be wrong.

This little chap a  Turnstone I think was all on this own.

I know this one, a Gull slowly running out of post as the tide came in. " shall I hop onto the next one"?

We waited till 3-30pm  before coming home all feeling a bit sleepy, must have been the sea air. and comparing notes on our vans

Thanks for looking.

From One Extreme to Another!!

Hi folks,

after out nice cold snap as you know rained and rained today, the upside is that Winnie is now back with a new clutch, cable and pedal and it is as smooth as silk to drive now. Trevor came to Winchelsea to get her and after lunch in our favourite pub by Rye Harbour we came back separately  in the pouring rain.

So to cheer you up here's a few continuing on from our American holiday. Next stop, Clearwater, Florida.

This is the beach at 10am, a bit quite but it livened up later

One of the many showers on the beach to rinse you off after a swim the Turtle was for effect .

Oh, a wader. Lets throw it open for names from the twitchers.

Little Egret scanning the groyne for fish.

And just to finish, what about another sunset?

All in all a very hectic week, still writing the Christmas cards, decorations still in the loft. Presents, what presents still got to buy them and only ten days until Christmas.

Thanks for looking.

Jack Frost in Ashford

Hi folks,

Just a few of what we have been through in the last few days as the rain approaches to throw a load of dirt about that the frost has sucked out of the road.
Yesterday we went to see Daisy at her Nativity play in Ashford and arrived a bit early so stopped by a pathway near her school and took these.

Hope you like them.

Thanks for dropping by.
