Prague, My View # 1

Hi folks,
just back from eight days in this wonderful city. and my what a wonderful place. The area is full of magical architectural marvels and sites that look different every time you look at them. Sue and I went there last Christmas to look at the lights and that was a prompt to return in the summer for another look and wow it was well worth it.
I will start a series of blogs on Prague but interrupt them when other events take place so bear with me and I am sure you will be rewarded with so few wonders of this city as I was.

Day one, on arrival we booked in to the hotel at lunchtime unpacked and started to walk into the city. Walking was fine but to speed things up the trams and the wonderful Metro helped us on our travels and is the ideal way to see the city. So off we go................

First off is the Municipal House with its fantastic facade of a mosaic image, the building was built between 1905-1911 and is one of the most important historical buildings in the whole country.

Close up of the mosaic, Tribute to Prague.

And the balcony below, the crest is of the city of Prague, three towers and an arm with a sword.

Even the lamps show the grandeur on the building.

From inside the entrance looking up and out with the canopy below the front balcony.

In the lobby is a magnificent staircase leading upwards to stained glass above the doors an a concert hall seating 2000 people.

In the entrance even the ticket desk is covered in ornate stained glass.

Well I made a start, hope you enjoyed the first part, many more to come. Regards Mike

Daisy on a Dull Day at Leeds Castle

Hi folks,
last week, or was it two weeks ago the three of us ventured to Leeds Castle for an outing. It was dull and rain was threatening but what the heck lets go for it.
She is growing up fast and we had to prise the music player away so we could get out in the fresh air.
Note the picture in the top right when she was two.

Well we got there in the end with the clouds rolling in..

To brighten our day the Rhododendrons were out in force.

And the young ducks were growing.

Daisy had fun keeping warm with the football.

Stopped for an Ice cream?

Liked the suitcase planter, a nice touch.

Action stations in the play area using her tongue to climb.

Action shot on the swing thingy.

Whilst Nanny looked after the new Super Dooper Cayla who knows most things but not the meaning of life. I kid you not, she is blue-toothed to a computer and knows a lot. Grief what next in toys.
Poor Nanny could not cope so filed her nails instead.

Then the rain started and that was the end of a great day at Leeds Castle. Keep smiling, Mike

Bubbles in Betws-y-Coed

Hi again folks,
short one today taken whilst on a coach trip from Anglesey with the Motor Caravanners Club on our trip up to North Wales. We found this chap in a courtyard doing his thing and attracting the crowds.

There, lots of enjoyment from a simple bubble. Take care, Mike

Walk around Chatham Marina with the Maidstone Camcorder Club

Hi folks,
Last week the Maidstone club came to Chatham to photograph the area around the Dockside Outlet. I tagged along and shot these. It was late in the day and we were treated to a nice sunset. Enjoy.

Quex Park #2

Hi folks,
Into the walled garden.

Cacti, strange long beast about a meter long in the greenhouse.

Lupins

First Lilies.

and a Poppy

Rear of the walled garden, liked the potting shed and the water bowser.

Inside a closed greenhouse, I had to point the camera up through the window.

Statues in the pond that was being refilled, representing the Greek Myth about Hippomenes and the beautiful Atlanta

Upon leaving the grounds I walked past the green fields of wheat getting ready to turn a golden yellow to get a final view of the tower.

Lastly as the sun went down on a lovely day I returned to the campsite for a beer and another crack at the Waterloo Tower with its Cockerel on the top.
