All's Well That Ends Well !!,

Hi folks,

Today Sue and I went to The Sunken gardens in Westgate to try to fly some kites with the club.

Not a good trip down as the fog was bad and loads of drivers had left the brains behind and forgot to turn their lights on and were driving too close in the conditions.

Well this is what we were greeted with when we arrived.

Fog was the order of the day with no wind as well. This is a shot down the beach as you can see it's a wonderful day.

We arrived at the Sunken Gardens and Peter was flying his Angel in hardly any wind and it was only about 100 feet up and being white disappeared into the fog. Being white didn't help

Peter then put up a lightweight Rok and that  after a short while then hit the ground and we spent the next hour talking and having lunch.

Then we had a party of Kite Flyers, left to right Malcolm, Peter and the star of the show, Gareth.

Next to arrive was Mike and Barbara, Mike managed to get this butterfly into the air and the fog was lifting.

This is Mike on the other end of the Butterfly.

The wind, still a whisper as Gareth tried his Roller, another lightweight gem and up it went.

This was followed by Mikes.

and Barbara's made a threesome.

With all three up the wind gathered pace and low and behold the sky turned blue but only for a few minutes mind. I was so impressed with these kites and to make my day Gareth offered to make me one.

All in all a day that started off yuck ended on a high note.

Thanks for looking.

nite nite, luv Mike XX

  4. No wind just drizzle here all day Mike.

No light and lights on at 1430 about the earliest yet. The Butterfly was nice
and I am glad it got off the ground.
