Hollycombe Steam Fair.

Hi folks,

let me take you back to the beginning of the holiday. we traveled down to Portsmouth on the Thursday and stopped for lunch in the town of Liphook. We noticed one of those brown signs with a steam train on it and duly arrived at the Hollycombe Steam in the Country Museum. We thought it would break up the journey if we popped in for a visit. Well what can I say the area was full of steam driven fairground rides, here's  glimpse.

As we went to pay this majestic steam engine trundled by with a loud toot of his whistle.

We were quite early as the place was just opening and there where not many people about but I caught this little boy in one of the old fashioned cars on his own thoroughly enjoying himself.

Still not many people about and I started to take pictures of the area before anyone arrived and it was a bit eary without people on the rides. Note the steam engine in the centre used to drive the ride.

Here's a view from the side giving a better view of the power unit.

next was the hall of mirrors, I just had to have a go.

Look Trev, this is the way to get thin quick, legs are a bit short though.

The big wheel.

A bit later a few punters have started to arrive and the place started to get busy. Lots of children with there mums arrived and the place changed and had more atmosphere.

Again the big wheel had its own steam plant driving it.

Hope you like the first part , more people turn up and the place livens up in the next blog.

Thanks for dropping by.

nite nite, luv Mike XX
