Walmer Castle, the Broadwalk

Hi folks,

This is the conclusion to Sundays trip to the Castle.

On leaving the Late Queen Mothers Garden we walked across to the Broadwalk, this was the main gardens leading from the castle to a meadow at the rear.

You can also reach the Broadwalk via a wooded area up the side of the garden.

This is the Broadwalk, the hedge was once was badly affected by frost when Winston Churchill was Lords Warden he told the gardeners to just trim out the bad bits which is why they are a funny but unusual shape today.

White Poppy.

Upper terrace with sundial erected in 2000 for the late Queen Mother

Statue of Mercury in the Paddock.

Last one is this unusual flower which was in the kitchen garden green house.

Well I must say we spent most of the day at this Castle and we didn't even go inside it.

Thanks for dropping by.

nite nite, luv Mike. XX
