today we travel from Merthyr Tydfil to the Mumbles and came back via the mountains.
Revamped Victorian Pier with the new lifeboat station at the end.
Mumbles lighthouse off shore.
Old lifeboat station now a bird home, shelving has been built for the Kittiwakes.
View through the railings.
New station opened just last Saturday.
Ken, our assistant host, taking in the view.
Lighthouse from the beach.
On the way back we stopped at the Pontrhydyfen Viaduct, Richard Burton (the famous actor) was born near here.
Looking down to Treorchy in the Rhondda Valleys.
Thanks for looking, love Mike.

Now you know why I now live in Wales, well one of the reasons, 9 years ago we moved. Thanks for the nice time with you both Mike and Sue, good to share 3 days with you both and sampling Heather's Culinary delights. Good photo's, I should show off my many hundreds of photos of Wales and Cornwall, but I never get down to it. Not accessed my blog since, but maybe later this week, been to busy.
ReplyDeleteA bit different from when I was there in 1980.
ReplyDeleteJust a lovely and plenty to see
BTW
ReplyDeleteIt was some way outside the Mumbles that I saw my first and only opencast coal mine.
