Final Leg on Edith May

Hi folks,

After a lovely lunch and good conversation it was time to get under way again.

As you can see all the sails were dropped for lunch and it was time to get them all up again.

This is about as far down river that we went approx 10 miles the Skipper recons.

Ann to the helm, with concentration on her face.

Sails up again, the crew worked very hard all day. Ed by the mast and Michael holding the sail.

Sun again, it  was lovely relaxing on deck, I know I have said it before but the lack of ordinary noise was magic.

Darnet Napoleonic Fort in the river to protect Sheppey and the Dockyard.

Looking towards the Naval activities.............

Wooosh and they were gone. They are in training to cover the Olympics on the Thames.

Dark clouds back again. Still the rain held off giving us a glorious day on the river.

Finally a image of the Edith May in all it's Glory with me on board.

Many thanks to Charles who was at the Strand Gillingham and took this shot and allowing me to use it on the blog.

We we arrived back at Chatham Marina about 6.30pm after having a bit of trouble with the wind and after tacking across the river a few times had to start the engine which was a shame.

Thanks also to the crew of the Edith May for making the trip so enjoyable.

Many more images could go up but I think you have had a good taste of my day out.

Thanks for looking.

nite nite, luv Mike XX
