This is the last tonight but I bet you are wondering what the card beside it says, well.............

TEAPOT DAMAGED IN World War 2

As you can see something has passed straight through this little teapot.

That something was shrapnel that came from a bomb that exploded in our back garden in Bexley during the blitz in 1942.

The teapot stood on our window ledge in our kitchen.

One night my father as just going to make a cup of tea and the air raid siren sounded so we ran into our indoor shelter.A few minutes later there was piercing whistles from a stack of bombs coming down. One landed on our back garden killing most of our chickens and demolishing our garage. It also blew out all the windows and took all the tiles off the roof.

Luckily we were all ok but we could never make a cup of tea with that teapot again.

This is probably the only teapot of it's kind in the world.

Owners note, thanks to Mr Geoff Hurst (not the Footballer) for his donation and interesting tale.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures, I have one more set to show if you would like to see them.

Thanks for looking.

nite nite, luv Mike XX
