Up the pole!

Hi folks,

Well let me introduce you to a new to me type of Photography using a POLE, yes you heard. a POLE!

On Tuesday we went up to the Great Lines in Gillingham where they have the Memorial, this is the same as the one on Portsmouth.

The object is to get a Photograph from a different perspective and angle, you see the one above is your standard shot of the Monument taken from the ground. Although interesting it could be made to look different and more appealing .

You can now see how high on the hill it is with Chatham in the background. The camera is firmly attached to the pole with a 20mm lens. The camera is fired with a remote from the ground and you have to play with the angles to get the picture right. I might invest in a cheap video camera to align the shots better but that is in the future.

From the right overlooking the wall which is adorned with plaques containing the names of servicemen and women'.  The pole is fibre glass is in 4 sections and can be locked at any height.

Going up in the air some 25ft in old money, you can see the centre Monument shadow across the shot.

As it was Tuesday the day has to have "little legs" in it to make the day. Here she is with Nanny's Bag with her Penguin in it.

In the background, to those local, is the Medway Maritime Hospital.

Enjoy and thanks for looking.

nite nite, luv Mike XX

  4. Well I have a film camera that I got in Boots back in the 60's. It is up in the loft as I would not throw it out.

  5. I use to use a pole when I went fishing, I could get further across the river or lake, so that the fish couldn't see me, Great photos.
